The Ring We Might Have Made for the actor Viggo.

It is a statement of record that for the Peter Jackson Lord of the Rings movie trilogy we made the One Ring in all its appearances, Frodo Baggins' silver necklace chain and Vilya, ring of Elrond.

We did not make any of the other elven rings and LOTR jewellery in the movie.  For legal reasons we cannot use the actual name of the ring worn by the character played by Viggo Mortensen. We call it “the Ring for Viggo”. It is not licensed merchandise.

We have however created our own interpretation of this ring based on descriptions of this ring given in the book. It was originally made in 18ct White gold Snake ring accompanied with 18ct yellow gold flowers & set with a hexagon cut Biron Emerald and natural round cut Emeralds for the eyes.

If you desire a different gemstone, metal or price point please ask, we would love to look into some options for you and create something that is truly yours.

  • Metal type: Available in 9ct, 14ct & 18ct White Gold or Platinum with Yellow Gold vines.

How to choose the right metal: White

Most jewellery gold is an alloy of gold, silver and copper. While the total gold content is determined by the carat, white gold adds some precious platinum which naturally filters out yellow color from the gold.  Unless requested we do NOT rhodium plate our white gold.
9ct An affordable light white gold. Minimum gold standard in UK.
14ct Hardwearing. May contain trace of nickel. Avoid if known nickel allergy.
18ct Best for wedding and jewellery.
